International organizations, including the European Union, have taken a stand in favor of Myanmar’s Rohingya living for a long time in Bangladesh.
In this situation, Bangladesh has been proposed “Multi Year Planning”. Bangladesh has clearly rejected that proposal.
It is learnt, on the upcoming October 22, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo hosted an online program on sustainable assistance to the Rohingya.
Although Bangladesh was invited to the program but it was not informed about the program agenda.
Apart from Bangladesh as a partner country the United Kingdom, the European Union and the United Nations refugee agencies also will be participated of this upcoming program.
According to the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry sources, Bangladesh has learned from various sources that the meeting will discuss how much money will be given to Bangladesh in the next 10 years.
In addition, they are also expected to discuss the long-term stay of the Rohingya in Bangladesh.
In this context, the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh AK Abdul Momen said that, they will talk about 10 years of humanitarian aid.
AK Abdul Momen also said ‘‘we have no interest in the long term. We will only take help for one year. The main goal of Bangladesh is the repatriation of Rohingyas. ‘’
“Westerners are proposing us multi-year planning, we are not agree with their multi-year planning. Multi-year planning is good for Rohingya rehabilitation. But we want the repatriation of Rohingyas to Myanmar. ‘’
